E3 2015 is just around the corner, and some companies have already started warming up by revealing small details of the games we'll see there. This time, Bethesda Softworks is starting to make us impatient with a brief teaser that marks the return of a classic, Doom.
The studio Bethesda Softworks surprised us with a great revelation at last year's E3 2014, the announcement of a new Doom.
After discarding the development of the Doom 4 project, the id Software team focused on creating a new title in the series, which was later renamed simply as Doom. The game is supposed to be a complete reboot of the franchise, rather than a sequel to Doom 3 or the origin of the previous games. During last year's QuakeCon expo, a longer trailer was presented with the game's new mechanics, such as melee combat, finishing moves, and the ability to extract a character's arm and use it to open a biometric security door.
Iconic enemies return
The developers also revealed that the game will bring back some elements that characterize the original Doom games, such as a more action-focused approach and less horror, the return of several iconic enemies, and the ability to carry many weapons at once.
After the QuakeCon expo, little was known about the game's progress until recently, when Bethesda Softworks released a small teaser to promote the game that will be shown on June 14 at E3 2015. The video, just a few seconds long, shows us in all its glory the Revenant, an iconic monster from Doom II.
With Revenant and Cyberdemon, that makes two enemies that will make their return in this highly anticipated game.
Doom is being developed by id Software and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game doesn't have a concrete release date yet, but it's expected that during E3 2015 the development team will reveal more information.
