Empyrean Technology reportedly proposed to acquire 50.38% of Shenzhen-based Easy-Logic Technology for CNY 218.8 million. The South China Morning Post reported on Nov. 2, citing an Empyrean filing made Nov. 1, that the proposed purchase would give Empyrean a majority stake in the chip-design software company.
What the proposed stake would give Empyrean
A transaction summary from S&P Capital IQ, published through MarketScreener, identifies Wei Xing as the seller and describes the 50.38% stake as an additional holding. It puts Empyrean’s ownership at 73.87% after completion.
What Easy-Logic’s tools are meant to do
Electronic design automation (EDA) software helps engineers design chips. Easy-Logic develops logic-optimization tools intended to reduce the time and computing resources needed for design iterations, according to the South China Morning Post. Empyrean says it plans to use the company’s engineering talent and intellectual property to strengthen its work on next-generation AI and 3D integrated-circuit design.
Easy-Logic’s reported financial results put that capability-building plan in context. Eefocus reported revenue of CNY 32.2504 million and a net loss of CNY 19.3865 million for 2025. For January through September 2026, it reported revenue of CNY 27.4225 million and a net loss of CNY 5.9065 million.
Why Huawei’s Tau Scaling Law enters the story
Reports connect the proposed investment to Huawei’s Tau Scaling Law. Eefocus said Empyrean linked its plans to Tau-related design scenarios and the industrialization of logic-folding chips. In eefocus’s explanation, logic folding reorganizes logic in three dimensions during chip design, a task for which synthesis and optimization software is relevant.
The South China Morning Post described Huawei’s target for the Tau Scaling Law as transistor performance equivalent to an advanced 1.4-nanometer process node by 2031.
