How the Race Works
If you haven't seen a race of Extreme Barbie Jeep Racing, then you probably haven't spent much time on the Internet. Basically, the idea is that a group of willing adults, some of whom may have a bit of liquid encouragement on their side, head toward a huge hill, trying to descend the slope in a race format, each one on top of a toy car. The concept is that competitors not only stay in their vehicles while going down the hill, but also, during the descent, they can fall off but resume the race on foot while carrying the toy car with them.
As you can see in the video, Extreme Barbie Jeep Racing races begin at the top of a hill, and two racers go head-to-head using nothing but a motorcycle helmet to protect themselves. The toy cars have been stripped of their gears and motors, so drivers can only do one thing: steer the vehicle's trajectory. There are no brakes, unless they use their arms, legs, and the other driver to stop their car. The winner is the first person down the hill, by any means necessary.
