A secret fatality in Mortal Kombat 2 for Sega Genesis that almost no one knows about, hidden behind a series of complex obstacles designed to discourage even the most curious. A super-secret fatality, an inside joke exclusive to the game’s programmers. The “Fergality”! A finishing move that turns your opponent into a dwarf who farts smoke and has the face of Fergus McGovern, the founder of Probe Software (now deceased).
It’s unclear whether it was a tribute or a joke, but that’s how Fergus McGovern became immortalized in one of the best fighting games in the multiverse. As founder of Probe Software, Fergus was responsible for the port of Mortal Kombat 2 for Sega Genesis. Code comes, code goes, programmers have fun. The result: the Fergality, a secret exclusive to the Sega Genesis version. How do you pull off this crazy and obscure Fergality? Keep reading...
How to Perform the Fergality
ONLY WORKS ON THE SEGA GENESIS VERSION!
- From the game menu, enter Options.
- Place the cursor over DONE! (as shown in the image).
- Enter the following code: ← ↓ ← → ↓ → ← ← → →
- If done correctly, a new option called 'Test Modes' should appear. Enter it.
- On page 2 of 'Test Modes', set 'Background 6', because this fatality only works in the Armory.
- On page 3 of 'Test Modes', check the 'Oooh, Nasty' option.
- Return to the main menu and start a new game, choosing RAYDEN (he is the only one who can perform the trick).
- Win the fight and, at the moment of 'FINISH HIM', enter the following move, from any distance (like a regular fatality): Back, Back, Back, Block.
Done! You’ve just transformed your enemy into Fergus McGovern
