Design: the Galaxy is easier to carry

Samsung also gives the Galaxy two features Apple’s phone does not match in this comparison: an S Pen stored inside the phone and Privacy Display. The iPhone 18 Pro Max reaches 2TB, twice the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s maximum of 1TB. That matters if you record a lot of high-resolution video or keep a large offline media library. Battery and performance: read the claims in context
Apple advertises up to 30 hours of typical use and up to 45 hours of video playback for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Samsung advertises up to 31 hours of video playback for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Those are different manufacturer measures, so the larger number on Apple’s specification page is not a controlled head-to-head battery result.
Samsung lists a 5,000mAh battery and up to 75% charge in around 30 minutes. Apple lists approximately 50% charge in 15 minutes with a 60W-capable adapter or higher, along with MagSafe and Qi2 charging up to 25W.
The phones also use different performance platforms: A20 Pro in the iPhone and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy in the S26 Ultra.
