How to play

To play Multiplex online, wait for preparation to finish, then press Play to start the 2007 MS-DOS edition in your browser. Navigate the mazes with the arrow keys and track down every monster.

Your goal is to eliminate all the enemies in each level. Crush them by pushing movable blocks, or get close enough to make them self-destruct; those blasts can kill you too. Watch your position: an explosion can catch other monsters or eggs and set off a chain reaction. Later levels bring faster enemies and larger blasts, so timing and careful movement matter.

An ASCII maze arcade game

Developed and published by Aestan Games in 2007, Multiplex pairs character-drawn mazes with explosive arcade action. Its design recalls Beast’s monster-crushing and Pyro II’s blasts. Explosions are both a hazard and a way to clear several targets at once when they cascade, making each approach a small tactical decision rather than a simple charge.
