One of the most acclaimed video game franchises in history is about to begin a new chapter. Gears of War 4 introduces us to JD Fenix and his friends Kait and Del, who must rescue their loved ones and uncover the origins of a new monstrous enemy.
A New Saga Set 25 Years Later
The story of Gears of War 4 takes place twenty-five years after Gears of War 3. The new protagonist is JD Fenix, the son of Marcus Fenix and Anya Stroud. JD, along with his friends Delmont "Del" Walker and Kait Diaz, must face a new threat in the name of human survival. This trailer begins after narrowly escaping an attack on a village, where the trio must rescue their loved ones and discover the origin of a new monstrous enemy. Gameplay Innovations
The gameplay of Gears of War 4 maintains many elements from previous titles, such as the cover system to avoid damage and active reloads. Among the new features is a combat knife, which can be used for melee attacks and allows new ways to perform executions.
Also there is an explosive weapon, the Dropshot, and the Buzzkill, which fires saw blades that bounce around the environment. The game emphasizes cross-platform cooperative play via Xbox One and Windows 10, while progress, scores, and achievements are saved through Xbox Live.
