Android Authority reported on October 15, 2026, that Google was emailing Google AI Plus subscribers about a planned change: starting November 13, choosing Pro models in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Google Search would be limited to Google AI Pro and higher tiers. The subscriber-reproduced notice says Plus would retain Flash and Flash Lite. (Android Authority reported the notice; the notice reproduced on Reddit)

What the reported change covers

The change concerns selecting Pro models in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Google Search. The notice names Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra as the tiers that would retain that selection; Google AI Plus subscribers would keep access to Flash and Flash Lite, according to the report.

The reproduced notice also says existing conversations started with a Pro model could continue using a different model. It does not say those chats would keep using the same Pro model. (Subscriber-reproduced notice)

Android Authority said an earlier Google support-document schedule had pointed to October 9. NeoTeo covered that earlier schedule in its previous report. Android Authority reported the later November 13 date from the subscriber notice.
