We only have artistic representations of some historical figures, which may or may not be faithful to their original appearance. In fact, there are cases where there are huge doubts, but that doesn't stop graphic designer and history enthusiast Becca Saladin from "transferring" those faces to modern bodies, in an attempt to see how they would look today. Some of the transformations are great, and others... might keep us up at night.
Developing a fascination with history and archaeology since childhood, Becca seems convinced that certain historical elements are what humanize us the most, from Inca mummies to the bodies of those who died in Pompeii, and she always thought it would be incredible to see those events just as they happened in the past.
That simple idea sparked the creation in 2019 of her profile called Royalty Now. At first, it was a way to satisfy her curiosity and imagine her favorite historical figure (Anne Boleyn) in modern times, but it quickly became something much bigger. Hollywood, the Tudors, American founding fathers, and French royalty are part of her work. If you want to see more after browsing this gallery, don't hesitate to visit her Instagram profile.
