We can present Wirelends in two ways: first, as a platform that lets you use the internet from a remote computer to browse the web, and second, as a free VPN that lets you browse while hiding your real IP address. Both descriptions are correct, because what the environment does is hide your actual location by routing all internet traffic through the remote computer. To connect to the remote computer, you enter an ID and password, and then you can start browsing.
If your computer will be the remote one, you'll first need to install Wirelends on your machine. During installation, the program will install a virtual network device (remember that it's very important not to skip this process). At this point, you'll ask your friend to also install Wirelends on their computer (it can be anywhere in the world), and then share the ID and password with you. You'll enter those details in the tool's interface and press the button “Connect” button. Once done, your friend will be ready to connect to the internet from your computer. From your own computer, you can disconnect your friend's connection at any time using the “Disconnect” button. Among other things, the platform lets you limit the use of the remote computer, as well as create lists of favorite connections and connect to them whenever you want.
Wirelends is a powerful program that lets you create a VPN from scratch, but one of the standout features is that the devices connecting to the remote computer can be any type: desktop computers with Windows and Linux operating systems, or mobile devices with Android and iOS.
Remember that in the free version of Wirelends you have limited relay availability and it's only allowed for home use. Commercial versions don't have this limitation.
