Sometimes, all a photograph needs is a simple transformation. Obviously, retouching experts can produce far superior results, but if you're looking to turn photos into drawings with a couple of clicks and no extra software, today we present four online options, some more limited than others, but all of them very interesting.
Photokako
Photokako presents itself as "one of the most famous online photo editors in Japan", but what matters most is its extensive list of filters for transforming images. The "Sketch" is just one option: Cartoons, Comic, Solid Paint, and Colored Pencils definitely deserve to be explored. The Edit menu will let you modify secondary values, and once you're done, click Download to get a copy.
Photo Cartoon
Without a doubt, Photo Cartoon is the most limited option on our list, but at the same time it looks like the simplest to use. Upload the photo, tap one of the filters on the left side of its interface, and wait for the results. It also allows text insertion and "equalization" of values like brightness, contrast, and saturation. The only downside of Photo Cartoon is that it adds a huge watermark, but nothing stops us from doing a bit of creative post-editing…
BeFunky Cartoonizer
Cartoonizer is just one module among many that the BeFunky platform offers. Only in the "Artistic" menu do we have fourteen subcategories for manipulating images, each with its own group of filters. Now, BeFunky enables the creation of a free account, but many of the filters will be trapped behind a paywall. Even so, it works very well.
PhotoMosh
PhotoMosh passed through our portal a couple of months ago as a tool for distorting images and creating animated GIFs. With a total of 27 filters available, you can do much more than convert photos into drawings. Think pixelation, vibrations, mirror effects, and all kinds of movement. PhotoMosh is one of my personal favorites, and fortunately, its free version has no restrictions.
