A couple of weeks ago we explored some online services to convert text to voice with different advanced features and free modes. However, today we would like to add Text2Audio, which stands out for its simplicity. There is no need to create accounts or register profiles: We paste the text, choose the language, and within seconds we will get the audio, along with an MP3 copy to download and listen locally.
Text to audio? There's an algorithm for that
With the algorithmic explosion and the proliferation of free services, we are going through one of the best moments to convert text into audio. Dynamic platforms like TikTok do not get along well with walls of text, so a good transformation is essential. That brings us to Text2Audio, created by Bui Dang Binh. This tool took its first steps as a personal resource, but its popularity registered a very important jump, and to date it has converted about 40 thousand paragraphs.
How to convert text to audio with Text2Audio
There's no science here: We paste the text, select the language, and a click on Submit does the heavy lifting. In a few seconds, Text2Audio will present two buttons: Play to listen to the audio, and Download to download it. The Split Paragraph option automatically separates it according to the original punctuation, but the final result is a bit erratic, so I recommend converting everything at once.
I must also mention that the download button does not seem to be working correctly. We tested on Edge, Chromium and Firefox, but we never got the MP3. Now, that doesn't prevent us from recording the audio with another program in the background, and getting a copy that way. I imagine it's a matter of time for the developer to fix this, but it's not the end of the world.
To finish, Text2Audio supports dozens of languages, including two Spanish variants (Spain and Mexico). If this sounds familiar, it's because the page uses the Google API for text-to-speech functions, and the good news is that Text2Audio will be free as long as that service exists.
