If you want to create surveys, contests, or use a multiple-choice quiz for educational or professional purposes, we'll show you how to do it in just a few steps in PowerPoint. To do this, we'll use the Multiple Choice Quiz add-in, which lets you have as many questions and answers as you want. Most importantly, you can assign a correct or incorrect value to any of the answers.
Adding the add-in
First, you'll need to add the extension to your PowerPoint. Open PowerPoint and go to “Insert”, then select “My Apps”, and from the window you can search the store for the add-in. If you have the extension open in a Web browser, it will appear by default. Once you add it, a page with your first quiz will open.
Configuring your quiz
Now you'll need to give the question a title and all the answer options you want. For the answers, you'll need to mark one as correct (highlighting it in green). You can also add a different comment to each answer. Here are the available options:
- Allow only one option (only one correct answer)
- Allow multiple selections (more than one correct answer)
- Shuffle the answers (the question sequence will change each time the file starts)
- Allow retry (answer multiple times)
- Limit attempts (set a number)
In the title you can incorporate a hint that will help participants orient themselves with complicated questions. This point is quite useful in an educational setting, because you can give hints about what has been studied without being too generous. The “Preview” option lets you see how the final design of the quiz will look.
You can also add images, videos, or text to your slides, which will enrich the surveys, contests, or exams you are designing.
Multiple-choice questionnaires created with this add-in are very easy to make; in our tests, we haven't detected any errors in the answers.
When a contestant takes the quiz, they will have to select an option, or several selections if you designed it that way, and then click “Send”. Afterward, a message will appear indicating in green that the answer is correct, or in red if it is incorrect. A button to try again will also appear.
