It happens more often than we'd like to admit: we find a video on Facebook, want to keep an offline copy to play later, and the social network just sits there. While there are various tricks to access the MP4 file, the easiest way to download Facebook videos is to rely on an online tool like Fbdown.net. Paste the link, choose the quality, and let it do its work.
One thing we can't deny at this point is that Facebook videos have exploded. YouTube may be designed exclusively for streaming, but Mark and his squad have gained a lot of traction in that market. Our contacts never stop sharing videos, and one or two appear in our feeds daily. Now, Facebook videos have a classic "problem": we can't download them... at least not directly.
How to download Facebook videos without software
An excellent shortcut to download Facebook videos is to visit the Fbdown.net portal. Its design is clean, and personally I've found almost no ads. If for some reason you don't like the site, you can always use the Chrome Video Downloader PLUS extension, but I think you'll get everything done faster through the website.
Right-click the video, copy its URL, paste it into fbdown.net, and use its download options. You can get the standard and HD versions (if available), or force a download at one of the intermediate qualities. Another feature tries to fix audio-related issues, though it's in beta.
Fbdown.net has a Spanish translation, but it's not the best we've seen, and it even seems to have trouble downloading certain videos (it says the video is private when its profile is public). Therefore, I recommend using the English edition directly. How long will Fbdown.net last? I don't know, but I hope it doesn't go anywhere.
