The popularity of QR codes has exploded, and many services depend on them even for the most basic operations. However, not all devices out there have cameras with enough quality to resolve the content stored in the patterns. How to read QR codes from an image with QR Code Reader
In its basic mode, the app works like any other QR code reader: all you have to do is point the camera. However, at the top of its interface you’ll find an option called Image. That will take you directly to your image gallery, where you should locate the copy of the QR code you want to read. Once selected, tap the Start button so QR Code Scanner presents the content of the code.
Other than that, there isn’t much more to say about the app. The History option opens a history where you’ll see all the readings you’ve done, and offers the possibility to export the entire list in CSV format. The UPG button just takes you to its premium edition. QR Code Scanner is funded by ads, and they aren’t that annoying.
Alternative: QR & Barcode Scanner
If for some reason QR Code Reader isn’t convincing enough, maybe you should take a look at QR & Barcode Scanner. In its interface you’ll find an option to turn the flash on or off during scanning, but if that’s not enough, Scan image works in the same way as QR Code Reader. The most important difference is that QR & Barcode Scanner is open source and has no ads.
