Some users bet on keeping things very separate between smartphone and computer. Others prefer a much closer relationship, to the point of wanting to control several aspects of their mobile directly from the desktop. The 'Your Phone' app from Microsoft is far from perfect and still carries some limitations, but if the plan is to receive Android notifications on Windows, maybe you want to give it a try.

- The first step is to install the Your Phone app on the computer (or the Xbox One).
- Launch the app, sign in with your Microsoft account, and start the linking process.
- On your smartphone, search for the Your Phone Companion app in the Play Store, and download it.
- Open the app, sign in with your Microsoft account, and complete the link.
If everything goes well, the synchronization will be ready, and Android notifications will appear on the Windows 10 desktop like any other message. Now... I imagine you are asking about the fine print. Very well, first of all, all this is possible only if you have Android 7.0 or higher, a technical detail that leaves out 40 percent of Android devices. And secondly, the application is a work in progress. One of my Windows 10 installations ran Your Phone wonderfully, while another refused to work. Patience.
