How good is your internet connection? How flexible is the mobile data plan on your smartphone? What can you say about coverage? What is your opinion about your company's technical support? Can you talk to humans, or do you only get bots? If we collected user testimonials focused on these five questions, we could probably write a couple of manuals.
However, we have another source of information: Cloudflare, a giant in cybersecurity and CDN services. The site Cloudflare Radar shares a wide range of statistics, and one of the most important sections is the so-called Internet Quality Index. There we find values about bandwidth per continent, latency, DNS response, and what interests us most: maximum download speed around the world.
Which Country Has the Highest Internet Speed? Cloudflare Responds
Cloudflare's data is based on speed test results recorded over the last 90 days, and at the top of the list is Spain, with 275.5 megabits per second. Second place goes to Hungary with 252.5 megabits per second, and the podium is completed by Israel, reaching 245.9 megabits per second. At this point, I imagine many users will wonder what happened to South Korea and Japan. South Korea occupies the fifth position with 236.3 Mbps, while Japan is not even in the Top 15, with a speed of 166.1 Mbps.
The best Latin American country is Chile, ranked fourth with 245.2 Mbps (just behind Israel), and Brazil is close to the Top 10, recording a speed of 198.8 Mbps. To finish, position 11 should belong to Uruguay with 208 Mbps, but Cloudflare did not include this country in the list for some reason, and Iceland is in the same situation: its speed is 232.2 Mbps, and it does not appear in the Top 10.
