Display: fold-out screen or conventional phone
Duo’s 7.6-inch inner display gives you a larger screen when the phone is open, while its 5.4-inch outer display handles use when it is folded. The 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro keeps a single conventional screen.
Duo also supports foldable-specific features, including Split View multitasking and hands-free positioning in multiple orientations. Apple lists support for Apple Pencil (USB-C) on the inner screen, marked as coming later in 2026.
Cameras: two rear cameras or three
iPhone 18 Pro has the more versatile listed rear-camera hardware for telephoto shooting: its three 48MP cameras include a dedicated Fusion Telephoto, and its Main camera has a variable aperture. That aperture can change to control how much light reaches the camera sensor.
Duo’s two rear cameras are a 48MP Fusion Main and a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide. Apple lists up to 2x optical-quality zoom for Duo and up to 8x for iPhone 18 Pro. The foldable also offers features such as Smart Take and Duo Preview for framing photos across its screens.

Battery figures measure different things
Apple estimates up to 31 hours of video playback on Duo’s inner display and up to 44 hours on its outer display. Apple lists up to 34 hours of video playback for iPhone 18 Pro. The Duo estimates depend on which display is in use.
A separate reported test recorded 23 hours and 45 minutes for iPhone 18 Pro. That test duration is a different measure from Apple’s video-playback estimates, so the figures do not establish a controlled head-to-head battery result.
U.S. preorder and store schedule
A September 28, 2026 report listed U.S. iPhone Duo preorders as scheduled for October 16, 2026, with store availability scheduled for October 23, 2026.
