ChatGPT is on everyone's lips, Bard proved to be very good (still experimental), and now comes Llama 2, the new generation of the model developed by Meta, with Microsoft as principal partner. The free profile of Llama 2 makes it attractive for all kinds of projects, and one of them is the client from designer Pietro Schirano, available right now.

Bing Chat is the new “gemstone” that Microsoft is embedding into its entire ecosystem. Google Bard left its glass castle to enter public beta. Access Llama 2, the new artificial model from Meta
This client was developed by designer Pietro Schirano. That means technically it is not an official resource, and it only focuses on the chat function, so we cannot save previous conversations or customize the interface. We immediately noticed that Llama 2 uses a more colorful and less formal language: the chatbot greets with each response, and often includes gestures or sounds associated with a llama.
As for the accuracy of its responses, we can say that Llama 2's overall grade is “passing”, although it falls into moments of delirium and contradictions like any other chatbot. In my test session, Llama 2 correctly answered about Caesar salad and the RTG, but had trouble with the Volksempfänger at first. Later it said it doesn't have a cutoff date, and a simple question about the current president of Brazil revealed it actually reaches until December 2022. Llama 2 doesn't connect to the web, and all sports results were incorrect.
Llama 2 is undoubtedly a work in progress. Meta confirmed its free use for research and commercial projects, a strategy that definitely points in the right direction.
