Swedish couple Erika Magnusson and Daniel Andersson are the creators of Logistics also known as Logistics Art Project, an 857-hour film that is the longest in the world. It follows the production journey of electronic devices from a store in Stockholm to a factory in China.
A Film That Takes Five Weeks to Watch
When we think of long films, classics like Gone with the Wind (238 minutes), The Best of Youth (366 minutes), or the extended trilogy of The Lord of the Rings (736 minutes) come to mind. But even the sum of all those minutes—about twenty-two and a half hours—doesn't compare to Logistics or Logistics Art Project, an 857-hour film, the longest in the world. Watching it in full would take no less than five weeks—35 days and 17 hours, to be precise.

It all began in 2008, when Erika and Daniel asked themselves where electronic devices come from. They conceived the idea of following the production cycle of a pedometer in reverse chronological order—from the store where it was bought to its place of origin and manufacture. The route began in Stockholm, passed through Insjön, Gothenburg, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Algeciras, Málaga, and ended in Shenzhen, in the Bao'an district. Logistics was filmed in real time over thirty-seven days, following the journey from the store in Stockholm to the factory in China.

The film begins with the couple traveling by truck to central Sweden, then by freight train to the port of Gothenburg, where they board one of the world's largest container ships and spend more than four weeks at sea, to end once more in a truck, this time from the port of Shenzhen to a factory in Bao'an. According to its creators, the concept of Logistics is about time and consumption, showing in close-up the physical and slow freight transport that sustains economic reality.
