Yang Bing is a Korean programmer who has been working with Unreal Engine 4 for the past two years to develop a fantasy game. The project is called Lost Soul Aside, an RPG inspired by Final Fantasy XV, and he currently develops it solo. He describes it as an action game with fantasy elements, combining the aesthetic of Final Fantasy with the combat of Ninja Gaiden.

The story takes place in a world where a great war occurred some time ago, and as a result, various monsters began attacking people.

The protagonist of Lost Soul Aside is Kazer, the captain of the templar knights, who is linked to one of the monsters. The gameplay is in the style of hack and slash, where Kazer fights all kinds of monsters with his sword, performing various combos. Being linked to a monster that accompanies him throughout the adventure allows Kazer to use special abilities such as flying and reaching new areas.

On his social media, Yang Bing shares the game’s progress and explains important details. Follow him on Facebook and Twitter.

To begin with, Kazer’s resemblance to Noctis (the protagonist of Final Fantasy XV) will be changed in the future to avoid issues with Square Enix. A Kickstarter campaign to fund Lost Soul Aside has been considered, but given that it’s a project carried out by just one person, the author isn’t sure he can handle all the responsibilities that would entail. Hopefully some company can finance this project so it can reach a good conclusion. Lost Soul Aside is being developed by Yang Bing and will be available on Windows. For now, the game has no concrete release date, and it’s unknown whether it will be available on other platforms.
