On October 13, Meta told Android Authority it had resolved a reported Ray-Ban Meta audio-recording issue after users said the glasses captured audio without the “Hey Meta” wake phrase. Meta also said users could manage, review and delete voice logs through settings. Android Authority reported the statement.
What one user reported
Reddit user Kindly-Audience-137 said the behavior affected three pairs of glasses, with “Respond without Hey Meta” turned off. The user also said audio recordings and transcripts appeared in Meta AI conversation history, according to Ars Technica’s report.
The indicator light
Menorca.info reported that the glasses’ indicator light illuminated during the captures it described. NeoTeo has also covered a separate camera-related privacy safeguard for Ray-Ban Meta glasses; that concerns camera functions, not these audio reports.
