Everything you need to play on your mobile is here, in the section that recommends the best games every week. Today we have the Lego edition of The Lord of the Rings, the remake of Final Fantasy III and an FPS with space zombies in Dead Effect. Let's play!
Dead Effect
Dead Effect (Free game): Welcome aboard the spaceship EES Meridian. You have just woken up from hibernation only to discover that the ship's crew has turned into hungry zombies. That's how Dead Effect begins, an entertaining FPS that invites you to fight zombies in space across a campaign where you can play as a male or female character. Use your special ability to slow down time and defeat the toughest enemies. And don't forget to explore every corner of the ship in search of money to upgrade and buy new weapons. Developed by inDev Brain, Dead Effect is available on iOS and Android.
Final Fantasy III
Based on the Nintendo DS remake, this edition of Final Fantasy III features improved gameplay and graphics, along with a remastered soundtrack. The story revolves around four young orphans who, as always, must save a world in danger, recover crystals, and wipe out horde after horde of enemies. The story may not be the best part of the package, but the addition of side quests, treasure collection, and many more things keeps this game a classic. If you play occasionally, you'd better take note of certain objectives, because the game isn't good at reminding you what to do, and you might wander for hours before getting back on track. Developed by Square Enix, Final Fantasy III is available on iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
Lego The Lord of the Rings
The epic adventure of Tolkien and Peter Jackson has been adapted to the world of bricks in the epic manner such a journey required. Lego The Lord of the Rings covers the complete trilogy, narrated with some differences from the movies for time reasons. Nevertheless, the work done by the developers has been magnificent. Somehow they managed to incorporate the main scenes of the saga into a series of missions, only slightly modified for humorous purposes. In addition to featuring the voices of the actors from the movies, the game boasts beautiful graphics that offer an incredible representation of Middle-earth in brick form. Developed by Traveller's Tales, Lego The Lord of the Rings is available exclusively on iOS.
Mirror's Edge
Immerse yourself in the world of Faith Connors, a Runner who must stop a deadly threat in a "perfect society" full of surveillance and relentless pursuers. Unlike the console and PC versions, the gameplay of Mirror's Edge on mobile changes radically to become a side-scrolling game. Here you must run through a futuristic city, jumping off walls, across rooftops, and sliding down ramps through fourteen levels of pure adrenaline. Think fast, engage in melee combat, evade your enemies, and don't let them catch you. Developed by EA Mobile, Mirror's Edge is available exclusively on Windows Phone.
The Blackwell Legacy
When Rosa Blackwell's only relative dies after twenty years in a coma, she thinks the worst is over. But all that changes when Joey Mallone, a sardonic ghost from the 1930s, appears in her life and tells her she is a medium. Like it or not, it's up to them now to cure the supernatural ills of New York in this point-and-click adventure game. In this first case of The Blackwell Legacy, the duo must investigate a series of suicides at a university while Rosa begins to accept her new status as a medium. Developed by Wadjet Eye Games, The Blackwell Legacy is available on iOS and Android.
