This time Microsoft returns with a new portal called MyMoustache, which uses facial recognition again to measure the length of your mustache. This experiment from Microsoft continues to test its new APIs, in this case to detect the length of facial hair and compare it with many other users who have uploaded their photo to the site.
To achieve this, the company worked with the Movember organization, responsible for the annual event in which men grow their mustaches during November and hold meetings to raise awareness about men's health issues such as prostate cancer or depression. The goal is to raise funds and create awareness for men's health while AI advances in facial recognition progress during its learning with users. Thus, when you enter MyMoustache.net you can upload a photo to find out the length of your mustache and compare it with other people. But the most interesting thing is that if you don't have facial hair in the photo, the portal creates your own mustache if you wish. Regarding privacy, you can rest easy because Microsoft stated that they do not collect personal information and that photos are used to help AI learning to create better analyses and more complete statistics.
