Nintendo sets the date and announces connected extras
Nintendo says players will be able to use ZELDA NOTES through the Nintendo Switch App for smart devices. The company also says two new amiibo figures can grant special masks in the game; amiibo featuring characters from The Legend of Zelda series can provide items that may help during play. Nintendo’s description names these features alongside the scheduled release date.
What the hands-on previews report
In a preview published October 14, 2026, Nintendúo described a three-hour demo that included Kokiri Forest, Hyrule Field, Hyrule Castle Town and the Forest Temple; its team said it completed the temple. The preview reported a free camera controlled with the right stick and a dedicated jump button in place of automatic jumping. Nintendúo’s hands-on account also describes motion aiming for the slingshot and bow, with stick aiming still available.
Nintendúo reports that Lon Lon Ranch sits within Hyrule Field without a loading screen, while Castle Town has reorganized streets, redesigned characters, enterable homes and businesses, and missions. The demo also featured five empty bottles, compared with four in the earlier version, and a seed item that summons the Deku Merchant. A feature called Threads of Time recaps the story and objectives.
The preview also reports voice acting in Ocarina of Time for the first time. Nintendúo says its demo used English text and Spanish voices. The outlet reported that the demo did not fall below 60 frames per second and that the game supports VRR, or variable refresh rate. Those are Nintendúo’s observations and claims about its preview build.
Skill Up on lighting, traversal and combat
Skill Up’s hands-on preview discusses Hyrule’s visual detail and lighting, along with changes to traversal, combat and level layouts. The video includes a Dbrand sponsorship.
