The first time we talked about Pokémon Uranium was in December 2014, but even then it already had six years of work behind it. Recreating the mystique of classic games, presenting a coherent story, creating new Pokémon with good balance, and eliminating every bug along the way is no simple task. According to the official page, it was more than nine years of development, and in these last days, its creators decided that Pokémon Uranium had reached the maturity needed to be released into the digital jungle as version 1.0.

Pokémon Uranium also features advanced graphics that reflect the state of the weather, extended battle animations, and a very polished attack selection menu. As if that weren't enough, Pokémon Uranium has a Pokémon trading system, something that a certain official developer hasn't managed to implement in its latest mobile game.
Now, the key word to access Pokémon Uranium is "patience". Its official site is being bombarded (500 errors everywhere), and version 1.0 suffers some compatibility and audio initialization issues that should be fixed in the next builds. The big problem with Pokémon Uranium, even though we don't like to admit it, starts with 'Nin' and ends with 'tendo'. It's true that during these nine years the 'attack dogs' lawyers of the Japanese giant didn't try to shut down the project… but do you remember AM2R, the Metroid 2 remake we mentioned on Monday? Well, it already received the first hits. Several copies of the game are preserved on the Web through mirrors, and the official page has made clear it hasn't received any 'cease and desist', however, DMCA claims are piling up. In other words: if you want Pokémon Uranium, just in case, hurry up.
