Project Wight: You Are a Mythological Monster Against the Vikings
Project Wight

The independent studio The Outsiders, led by David Goldfarb (designer of Battlefield 3 and game director of Payday 2), presents its first game with Project Wight. Set in an alternate history of the Nordic era, the plot takes place in a dark age where humans share the world with the last remnants of a forgotten intelligent species. What makes Project Wight special is that you see the world through the eyes of these mythological monsters in their struggle against the Vikings.

Goldfarb prepared a video with gameplay where we see him controlling a young creature (basically a child) looking for its parents. These creatures move on all fours and are good at hiding, climbing, and jumping, but they can easily die if hunted even by the weakest humans. So the best thing is to escape to stay safe. Another characteristic is that they can crawl into confined spaces that no human can follow. The first part of the video of Project Wight takes place inside a cave that these creatures inhabit and where humans are hunting.

In fact, the story takes place at a stage where humans have almost completely eradicated these creatures. In the second part of the video, David controls a larger adolescent creature, much more powerful than the previous one. The action now takes place outside, where the creature jumps from the top of a cliff to glide and land in a Viking camp. In addition to brute force, the creature can roar, paralyzing its adversaries with fear and then attacking them with bites. Without a doubt, this title looks quite promising. Project Wight is being developed by The Outsiders and will be available on Windows. For now, the game does not have a concrete release date.
