A 10% increase in Qualcomm’s PC-processor supply prices is reported from October 2026. In a report published Oct. 12, IT之家, carried by tech.ifeng.com and citing Taiwan’s Commercial Times, said the change covers processors including Snapdragon X and Snapdragon X2 Elite. The report also placed Intel’s family-specific price adjustments in September and said AMD was preparing an adjustment for some processors. IT之家’s report
Intel’s reported September increases vary by processor family
IT之家 reported different September 2026 adjustment ranges for three groups of Intel processors. The Panther Lake figure applies to the version with the large integrated GPU; the report’s Alder Lake identification more likely refers to Alder Lake N.
| Processor family and configuration | Reported adjustment | Timing |
| Panther Lake with the large integrated-GPU version | 15–20% | September 2026 |
| Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake | 5–10% | September 2026 |
| Alder Lake (more likely Alder Lake N) and Twin Lake | 10–20% | September 2026 |
These ranges apply to the named families and configuration, rather than describing one percentage across Intel’s processor lineup.
A processor supply price is not a PC’s sticker price
The Qualcomm figure concerns processor supply pricing. A buyer’s price for a laptop or desktop covers a complete system, so the reported 10% supply-price change is not a 10% change in the price of a finished PC.
Separate retail observations offer a view of selected Intel processors in South Korea and Japan. Tom’s Hardware reported that Danawa-tracked prices in South Korea rose from late September to mid-October for several older models. Its Japan figures, attributed to GAZ:Log, cover a different set of models. Tom’s Hardware’s retail-price report
| Market | Processor | Reported retail-price change |
| South Korea | Core i3-14100F | +15% |
| South Korea | Core i5-14600KF | +13% |
| South Korea | Core i5-12400F | +11% |
| South Korea | Core i5-14400F | +6% |
| Japan | Core i3-14100 | +10% |
| Japan | Core i3-14100F | +2.6% |
| Japan | Core i5-14400 | +20% |
| Japan | Core i5-14400F | +11% |
Tom’s Hardware also reported fluctuations of about 5% for certain Core i7 and Core i9 models in Japan. These observations concern specific older Intel processors in those markets; they are separate from the reported supplier-price adjustments.
AMD’s reported plan and the cost pressures cited
The IT之家 report said AMD was preparing a price adjustment for some processors. The reports also cited higher wafer-foundry charges and rising costs for components used to assemble processors as pricing pressures.
