Ratchet & Clank

Released in 2002 for PlayStation 2 and later adapted for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, Ratchet & Clank introduced us to a galactic third-person adventure to save the home planet of these two characters. Throughout the different planets the player visits, the characters obtain a wide range of weapons and equipment to defeat numerous enemies and solve puzzles. The game was received positively, standing out in graphics and gameplay along with the comic and funny style of the characters, which endured throughout the multiple installments of Ratchet & Clank that have come out so far.

A Modern Reimagining

The new installment will be named Ratchet & Clank, plain and simple, and will be a reimagining of the first game in the franchise, featuring a new origin for the characters and more modern gameplay adapted to current times. Fans of the series can expect new boss fights, several new planets to visit, new flight sequences aboard ships, and many more surprises that will take advantage of the power of Sony's console.

Movie and Release

The game is being developed alongside the Ratchet & Clank movie, which already has a release date in theaters for April 29, 2016. Ratchet & Clank is being developed by Insomniac Games and will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4. The game does not have a concrete release date but it is expected to arrive during spring 2016 alongside the movie's release. Sony announced that it will offer more details during its conference this Monday, June 15 at E3 2015, so we'll have to wait to see what they have in store.
