Rosstat acknowledged coordinated cyberattacks against its resources in late October 2026, according to reports. Cyber Partisans and Silent Crow separately claimed that they accessed internal systems and stole data.
What Rosstat said about the attacks
Brandefense reported that Rosstat said its monitoring detected the activity, its infrastructure was operating normally, and it found no database compromise or leak of legally protected information. Those statements describe the agency’s account of the incident.
How much data did the groups claim?
Cyber Partisans claimed to have taken more than 10 TB of data; Silent Crow claimed about 23 TB. Brandefense reported that the groups did not explain the difference. Silent Crow also claimed access to about 25,000 machines and roughly 2 TB of documents from a restricted-access perimeter.
A chart attributed to the groups carries the title “Dynamics of losses in the Russian Army.” Tom’s Hardware described it as showing monthly deaths. The title uses the broader term “losses.”
