Samsung reported that combined European sales of the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra were 45% higher than Galaxy Z Fold7 sales in equivalent nine-week periods. The company published the figures on October 22, 2026, in a statement on Samsung Newsroom. The comparison combines two current models against one predecessor.

What Samsung’s 45% sales figure compares

The 45% increase covers the two Galaxy Z Fold8 models together, not either model on its own. Samsung compared their combined sales during the nine weeks after launch with Galaxy Z Fold7 sales in the equivalent nine-week period a year earlier.

That makes the figure a comparison between a two-model group and one previous-generation model. It does not give a separate result for the Galaxy Z Fold8 or Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.

Samsung’s foldable searches spiked in September

Samsung’s search figures describe interest in its foldables as a category, not searches for the Galaxy Z Fold8 alone. The company reported that searches across 32 European markets were more than 260% higher in September 2026 than in August. For September 6–12, it reported a 460% increase over August 30–September 5.

Apple announced the iPhone Duo on September 9, during the week in which Samsung reported the 460% search increase. Those dates place the announcement and the search spike in the same week.

NeoTeo previously covered a different aspect of the device in its guide to using Light mode for longer daily use on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
