What Google’s November Android patch levels cover
Google published its November Android Security Bulletin on November 2, 2026. It lists two security patch levels, 2026-11-01 and 2026-11-05:
| Android patch level | Coverage in Google’s bulletin |
| 2026-11-01 | Issues assigned to this patch level |
| 2026-11-05 | Applicable issues at this level and earlier levels in the bulletin |
Google identifies CVE-2026-58868 in Android Framework as a critical remote-code-execution vulnerability. The bulletin says it could allow remote code execution without additional execution privileges or user interaction. Google’s November Android Security Bulletin describes both patch levels and the vulnerability.
Why Galaxy update timing varies
Samsung says security updates for selected devices follow monthly, quarterly or twice-yearly schedules. Delivery timing varies by region, model and network provider; some carriers may use a quarterly schedule for models otherwise listed for monthly updates. Samsung also says some chipset-vendor fixes may be deferred to a later security package. Samsung’s security update policy outlines these schedules and timing factors.
What the reported vulnerability count includes
MovilZona reported 155 Android CVEs and 24 Samsung or Galaxy-specific SVEs in the November patch. The outlet also described reported fixes involving bootloader protection, input validation and buffer overflows, as well as cover-screen widget calls, SIM-lock bypass, Dialer, Contacts and Messages, MKV playback, and Exynos chips and modems.
