Pater Sato became an independent artist in the early 1970s after succeeding at design school and studying with the renowned illustrator Setsu Nagasawa. His outstanding airbrush skills earned him covers of numerous magazines around the world, as well as album sleeves for bands like Chic and the Logic System project of Hideki Matsutake (the 'fourth man' of Yellow Magic Orchestra). In 1980 he published what critics consider one of his best works, SatoMasochism, where he basically let loose one or two demons. Want to see?
Several of the images you'll see below belong to SatoMasochism, while others come from secondary projects. A notable detail is that some of the illustrations are accompanied by short excerpts from poets such as Guillaume Apollinaire, Charles Baudelaire (the same one who wrote 'The Flowers of Evil' and perhaps the best translator of Edgar Allan Poe into French), George Sylvester Viereck, and Aleister Crowley. Personally, I don't think this content deserves advanced censorship, but it definitely flirts with NSFW, so consider this a warning.
