With Sky Chart Maker, you can create amazing sky charts from any viewpoint on Earth. You can insert celestial bodies, stars, nebulae, constellations, planets, comets, asteroids, and more. Once you add objects to your sky chart, the utility lets you save it in PNG or CDC3 format.
Using the program is quite simple. First, you need to indicate your position on the planet. You can do this by entering your coordinates (longitude, latitude, and altitude) or letting the platform do it automatically using your IP as a locator.
After entering your location data, the environment takes you to its main interface. You can now enjoy the night sky view from your location on planet Earth. On the left side, you’ll find the compass from which you can change the viewing angle.
Tools to explore the sky
If you want to go a little further, at the top of the platform you’ll find the tools. From there you can see stars, observe deep-sky objects, visualize nebula sketches, hide or show planets, show or hide asteroids, show the compass, show constellation lines, and toggle the sky background color (blue or black), among many other options.
