The most important detail is that WhatsApp decided not to close its structure, and enabled the installation of packs developed by third parties. To send stickers, it's enough to enter a conversation, tap the Emoji icon, and then the Stickers icon (which looks like a badly stuck label). The factory configuration includes the Cuppy sticker set, with a theme based on coffee cups. If you want to add more, tap the + symbol, and WhatsApp will take you to an "official" list that is slowly expanding. There are about 50 packs available, but if that's not enough, at the end of the list you'll see the "get more stickers" option.
That just opens the Play Store or the App Store and shows results for sticker packs that have been published there. Memes, 3D emojis, animations, sports, anime, cats, dogs, Disney movies, The Simpsons... in essence, the sky is the limit. WhatsApp uses the term "WAStickerApps" to search for packs in the Play Store, while "WhatsApp Stickers" usually mixes apps for creating your own stickers.
If Facebook were as flexible with its terms as it is with the sticker platform, songs would probably be written celebrating the messenger, but here we are.
