The concept of crowdsourcing has been around for years, and there are clear examples of how it works. However, Solverboard adds a twist by combining a company's challenges with potential solutions proposed by its users, and the best idea receives a significant sum as a reward.
What Is Solverboard?
Let's say you're just starting a business. Things begin to go well, but soon some obstacles emerge. Perhaps costs rise, or demand becomes too much for one person. Nobody wants to make a mistake, and the next step might depend less on a personal decision and more on the experience of someone who has been through it before. Now, let's flip this exercise: what if you are the one with that knowledge? How can you share it, and what benefits come from doing so?

Solverboard isn't a classic discussion forum or anything like that. Perhaps it's more accurate to describe Solverboard as a kind of Kickstarter going in the opposite direction. Instead of presenting a product and receiving money from interested people, a company offers its current problem and pays a fixed sum to whoever has the best idea.
Solverboard is still in beta, and visitors to its page will find four challenges for now, one of which has been proposed by the platform's own creators. At the same time, it must be acknowledged that the challenges are complex and require more or less specific knowledge, whether about design, art, or economics. Still, whoever hits the nail on the head with one of the existing problems could receive a fairly interesting sum (between 500 and 1,000 pounds sterling).
