It took a while, but it's finally here. Netflix took advantage of the Super Bowl to present the video preview of the second season of Stranger Things, which will premiere this Halloween.

The first season of Stranger Things left us with some unanswered questions, but before withdrawal symptoms set in, Netflix reacted quickly and confirmed its second season with a teaser. Of course, teasers don't show much, so Netflix took advantage of the Super Bowl to present the video preview of the second season of Stranger Things, which premieres this Halloween. This second season takes place in 1984 (a year after the events of the first season) and will explore the "bigger mythology" of Will's disappearance, according to the Duffers brothers, Matt and Ross, creators of the series.
What to expect in season 2
The first season took place in a small fictional town called Hawkins, Indiana. This second season of Stranger Things will again take place in Hawkins, but now the group of kids will have to venture a bit outside the small town when problems arise. This season also welcomes four new characters, among them Bob Newby (Sean Astin), a former schoolmate of Joyce and Hopper; Owens (Paul Reiser), an executive from the Department of Energy tasked with containing the events of the first season; and Roman (Linnea Berthelsen), a woman emotionally damaged since childhood who has come to town due to the strange events.
And finally, Murray Bauman (Brett Gelman), a former journalist turned conspiracy theorist, visits Hawkins to pursue a case that may be linked to the events of the previous season. Starring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Paul Reiser, Sean Astin, Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, and Caleb McLaughlin, this second season of Stranger Things will consist of nine episodes and will be available to watch in full on Netflix starting October 31, 2017.
