On October 26, 2026, SWI Compute announced plans to build and operate NVIDIA AI factories, starting in Europe. The company’s first announced large-scale project is a planned UK facility with an initial 30-megawatt phase that it expects to bring online by the end of 2027.
The UK project starts with a planned 30 MW phase
SWI Compute says the UK campus could grow to 530 MW. That is the planned capacity of the campus, not the size of its initial phase. The company has not announced the UK town or site address.
NeoTeo previously covered a report that SWI had agreed to lease 13 MW of IT capacity at Templus near Madrid. That reported arrangement involved an existing Spanish data center; SWI Compute’s October announcement described a planned UK AI factory.
The capacity figures describe different things
A gigawatt (GW) equals 1,000 megawatts (MW). SWI Compute’s stated target is 2.3 GW of NVIDIA AI-factory capacity by 2029. Separately, SWI Group says it has secured 3.6 GW of power capacity across Europe and the United States, with access across 24 sites.
The 3.6 GW figure describes power capacity at the parent-group level. The 2.3 GW figure is SWI Compute’s target for AI-factory capacity. They are distinct measures, and neither describes the operating capacity of the planned UK campus today.
SWI says it plans to use NVIDIA DSX AI Factory Platform and the Vera Rubin DSX reference design at new sites from 2027. These are part of the company’s stated design plans for future facilities.
The first customer and system orders
SWI Compute reported approximately $1 billion in NVIDIA system orders and said it had executed initial customer contracts. The company describes its first customer as a US-based AI inference platform that contracted capacity. Delta Computers is the named systems integrator for the planned deployment.
