The name of this project is Tesla Model M, an enormous electric motorcycle with a fascinating retrofuturistic visual appearance that resembles the classic Münch Mammoth. But is Tesla aware of the making of such a beast? Find out by reading the note.
While Tesla Motors continues its usual production of electric cars and battery storage systems, a talented British designer named Jans Slapins designed a concept of what would be the Tesla electric motorcycle. The name of this project is Tesla Model M, a red motorcycle that resembles the classic and huge sport bikes, like the Münch Mammoth. Its bulk comes from the electric motor and lithium-ion batteries mounted as centered and low as possible on the aluminum frame to lower its center of gravity, respecting the engineering philosophy of the Model S.
At first glance, the motorcycle looks heavy. However, the central compartment (where the fuel tank would normally be) is actually a large integrated waterproof compartment, with enough space to carry a cell phone, a laptop, a backpack, or a helmet. And because the vehicle is electric, there is no need for a transmission. The motorcycle has an electric motor of 150 kW (equivalent to 204 hp) along with four different driving modes: Race, Cruise, Standard, and Eco. The Tesla Model M uses modern technology and materials, such as lightweight carbon fiber wheels, a floating seat, and LED lighting.
So it's not only fast, but also very practical, with a fascinating retrofuturistic visual appearance. Now comes the bad news: unfortunately this impressive electric motorcycle is not real. It's only a project created by Slapins, who has no relationship with Tesla. Slapins is undoubtedly a man with a clear preference for two- and four-wheeled vehicles, who had already designed works such as the Lamborghini Rat Rod or the BMW Urban Racer. Let's hope that in the near future Tesla will consider the design of the Tesla Model M and can make it real for the pleasure of two-wheel lovers.
