The world of aviation proudly celebrates its most popular and stable vehicles, but it is also full of prototypes, concepts, obscure models, and limited production runs. In fact, some of these aircraft never left the drawing board, and the only thing that can make them fly today is the public's imagination (or a simulator). That's where the AviaDesign portal by Stéphane Beaumont comes in, better known as Stargazer, who has shared hundreds of his own designs, some with minimal tweaks and others heavily modified.
Who hasn't experimented with paper airplanes at some point? How many of us have tried to create strange models, only to watch them fall to the floor like stones? Fortunately, the web is full of entire databases with designs that deliver far better results, but in real life, many aircraft prototypes never take physical form, or do so in just one or two units.
Stéphane Beaumont from AviaDesign has carried out a large number of experiments, but not in the traditional way. His work consists of taking images of prototypes, artistic concepts, and general production aircraft to create his own variants. In some cases he went so far as to change their identity completely (say, turning planes into helicopters), while in others he merely tweaked logos or removed civil markings.
