A Mask That Breathes Fire
If someone like Colin Furze built a thermite launcher and a flying motorcycle without ending up in the hospital, what stops another YouTuber from creating a fire-breathing mask? Of course, the answer is 'nothing'. You just need to be crazy enough, have a more or less solid idea of what you're doing, build the device with patience and precision, and not have too much self-respect. After all… it's madness. Yes, the person behind the YouTube channel Sufficiently Advanced created a real madness, inspired by Cyclops in X-Men. Which version? Honestly, I have no idea, because Marvel can create parallel universes as if they were scrambled eggs.
A welding mask, a small fuel tank (40 percent acetone with 60 percent methanol, and three grams of strontium chloride per 100 milliliters), a pump recycled from a Nerf gun, two outlet channels, two lighters as "pilots", and a reasonable amount of copper tubing give shape to this project, which from a "practical" point of view is a flamethrower. It's hard to believe that a Nerf gun pump can shoot two streams of fuel that far, and I imagine that if it had one outlet instead of two, its range would be even greater.
I imagine more than one YouTuber must be thinking about a "version 2.0" of this mask, perhaps with a more elaborate compression system and a safer way to store fuel… but that would only bring it closer to a conventional flamethrower, wouldn't it?
