For many people, an abandoned car can be a simple nuisance. But they also become wonderful projects, business opportunities, solutions to specific problems, time capsules. Each of these vehicles carries a "story." Only a few privileged individuals will have the chance to share it, but the rest will remain in remote and isolated fields, consumed by the desert or surrendered to the green of the forest. Photographer Dieter Klein specializes in portraying those "stories" throughout Europe and the United States. Would you like to see?
We've seen it to the point of exhaustion in reality shows and many YouTube channels: rare cars, lost jewels abandoned for decades that get a second chance after a deep restoration. But what about those vehicles that don't make it, and remain under the sun and rain? Photographer Dieter Klein has traveled Europe and the United States in search of them, obtaining fabulous images of all those paralyzed and frozen dreams. Just like with the tank cemetery in Ukraine and the city of Fukushima, there is something in all that abandonment that we can't stop watching.
