Roman Fedortsov is a deep-sea fisherman who operates out of Murmansk, the largest port in Russia's Arctic. For a long time, Fedortsov has been sharing images on social media of some of the creatures that end up trapped in his nets. And to be honest, there are specimens that look straight out of another planet – I'd even say from another time, a mix of mutant fish and dinosaurs. You can't help but wonder what on earth nature was thinking when it created such creatures, but they are out there, somewhere between the mesopelagic zone and the beginning of the bathypelagic zone in the ocean.
