Some believe that when you reach a certain age, you should think about retirement. Others think the most logical thing is to keep working if you feel good. Personally, I choose the third option: kicking digital butts in the latest FPS. That is the goal of the Swedish team known as The Silver Snipers, whose members have an average age of 71.2 years.
I'm never going to stop playing video games. I'm simply not going to stop. I imagine many of our readers must be thinking the same thing, and that's great. BirDie (75), Teen Slayer (62), Knitting Knight (63), Berra-Bang (81), and Windy (75) are the five members of The Silver Snipers, which has the highest average age in the entire Counter-Strike: Global Offensive circuit. The training was led by Tommy "Potti" Ingermarsson, co-founder of Ninjas in Pyjamas, and now retired from active competition. The average number of hours in CS:GO for the Silver Snipers is 91.4 hours, while their global K/D ratio is 0.43.
The Recent Competition
Of course, all those numbers can improve, and the best way is by participating in different events, like the recent DreamHack Winter that took place earlier this month. Although the Silver Snipers didn't win any matches against the CS:GO elite, more than twenty teams expressed interest in playing against them, and at the end of the day, that's what it's about. Staying active, exercising the mind, playing, improving, having fun.
