Many animated characters have become an inexhaustible source of inspiration. From "The Simpsons" to "SpongeBob", passing through the acclaimed "Rick and Morty" and other examples from Adult Swim, some artists transform and reinterpret these TV icons in incredible ways. Today it is the turn of Miguel Vásquez, who brings a huge dose of 3D with results that are surprising and disturbing at the same time.
This is not the first time we ask ourselves this question, and it won't be the last: How would some cartoon characters look in the real world? Logically, the final answer depends on how each artist interprets them, but in general it is a combination of "weird", "disturbing" and "horrible". A bit of nightmare, a bit of the "Uncanny Valley", and the desire to keep looking no matter how scary they are.
Miguel Vásquez takes it a step further by turning them into 3D. Some of his works are inspired by Maxim Verehin, but his Instagram profile also reveals many personal projects. SpongeBob, Adventure Time, Dragon Ball, Super Mario, Billy and Mandy... I imagine you will have no trouble recognizing them all.
