Homer's never-ending adventure is about to cross the 700-episode threshold (and it probably already has by the time you read these lines). And if there's one thing we can't deny about the series, it's that its masterminds have very interesting taste in music. Many of its melodies were simple references to other famous projects, but if you've ever wondered where you can listen to The Simpsons songs… the answer comes via Spotify.
Homer refuses to go to church. He enjoys a hot bath, turns the heating up, and dances in his underwear (a clear reference to Risky Business with Tom Cruise) to the rhythm of a song. Do you remember which one? Too hard? Let's try again: Homer and Marge's marriage is at its worst. Marge might find comfort in the arms of her bowling instructor, but in the end she decides to look for Homer at the nuclear plant, a scene marked by a romantic song that took the '80s by storm. You have to remember that… or maybe I'm just too old?
The first song is "Short Shorts" by the Royal Teens, and it was used by the producers of the series on more than one occasion. The second is "Up Where We Belong" with the voices of Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes, soundtrack of the film An Officer and a Gentleman (the ending of that episode is a kind of homage to the film's ending).

Some of them are very easy to recognize, such as "I Got You Babe" by Sonny & Cher (Ned and Maude/Magda sing a parody of the song during their custody of Maggie, and it also plays in The Fat and the Furriest, 15x05), or "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" by Elton John (The Way We Was, 02x12). However… the series has 32 seasons and 699 episodes at the time of writing. It's impossible to remember every Simpsons song, and it's likely you'll come across several surprises.

One of the most relevant is "Pride (In the Name of Love)" by U2, which the band itself sings during Trash of the Titans (the trash episode), and classics like the 1812 Overture (Bart the Daredevil, 02x08) are also missing. That said, we can't be too harsh on Luis's list. After all, even the official wiki isn't complete.
