The Void (Vision of Infinite Dimensions) is a virtual reality park set to open in Utah, United States. These virtual entertainment centers are coming to major cities across North and South America, Asia, Europe, and Australia. Watching the video, it's impossible not to notice similarities with laser tag arenas, but with an Oculus Rift headset and virtual worlds tailored to the chosen theme. However, this time, The Void features its own technology called Rapture, which consists of a helmet, vest, gloves, and a small backpack.
The Rapture System
The helmet has two curved OLED screens, one for each eye, THX headphones, and both global positioning and head-tracking sensors that operate at 120Hz, providing sub-millimeter precision. The gloves allow you to interact with objects in the environment, while the vest uses haptic technology so you can feel any contact or impact in the virtual world. These three components are powered by the backpack you wear on your back.
