Let me tell you about something that happened recently, which I narrated with these words on my Facebook profile, regarding a weasel that appeared in the back of my house. My wife and I called her Cuca, and we even recorded a video of her. For your information, because I mention them in the story, La Rubia and Pampa are my dogs.

Yesterday Cuca, the weasel, appeared dead. It was night when we saw her, we were coming back with María from the orchard and I almost fell when I tripped over her corpse. She was on the front patio of my house, a few meters from the entrance, just steps from the large tank of rainwater we have to water the fig tree.
It smelled of rot, as weasels do, so I quickly identified the deceased, even though it was dark. After a quick inspection, using a broom handle and a flashlight, I noticed that the victim had no injuries consistent with a canine attack. Her body was still flaccid, her mouth was open, and her tongue stuck out in a rather strange way. We also found, all around where she lay, what I can only describe as "bloody diarrhea".
La Rubia was frantic and wanted to play with the corpse, so I decided to end my CSI forensic study, bag the body, and clean the area with bleach, water, and more bleach. My suspicions indicate that the weasel was poisoned. The absence of fight marks and the bloody feces beside the corpse point to that. The main suspect, of course, is the neighbor in the back, the one with the chicken coop.
The weasel lived in my backyard, as you can see in the video in the first comment. Of course, the animal fed in my neighbor's backyard, on eggs and chicks. On one of her trips, the weasel ate something there that poisoned her. The poison doesn't kill instantly, so she died later, slowly, in her own home, my backyard.
La Rubia had returned with me, so she didn't pull the weasel's body out of its hiding place. Pampa doesn't have that kind of temperament, and she runs from what she doesn't know. So my conclusion is that the weasel, dying, came out of her hiding place to drink water (because that's what I imagine weasels do when they're poisoned and dying). Her body ended up very close to the large rainwater tank, the one that might have eased her suffering a little before she died.
Case closed.

And since I have a bunch of people captive to the nonsense I write and the movies I recommend, I want to do an experiment only suitable for people who don't live in Argentina. Esperando la Carroza is, in my opinion, the best national comedy and (possibly) the best movie to come out of my territory. I've always wondered what a foreigner would think of such a local and hilarious movie, with so many nods to national idiosyncrasy. Do you dare to watch it and tell me what you thought? You can watch it for free (and officially) on Cine.ar (which is like an Argentine Netflix) or on YouTube if you don't want to register (although I recommend it).
