In less than 48 hours, the YouTube trending section has exploded with new trailers. On one side, two direct rivals, House of the Dragon and The Rings of Power, came out to face each other just an hour apart. On the other, we have the first teaser of Dune: Prophecy, the prequel that will explore the origins of the Bene Gesserit sisterhood.
House of the Dragon, Season 2
Green against black, two heirs to the throne, and an imminent war. There is no bloodier war than a war between dragons, said Rhaenys Targaryen, and her Dance promises to be brutal. More than a year and a half has passed since the end of the first season, and the new package of 8 episodes (two fewer) will debut on June 16.
The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power, Season 2
If the story of your heroes isn't interesting, you can always tell the story of your villains... and that seems to be the path for the second season of The Rings of Power. The first ended literally with the Three Rings forged, and Sauron coming home so to speak. The teaser certainly has a darker profile, and the detail of the tower at the end isn't bad... but the series in general must correct many problems. I hope it does.
Dune: Prophecy
After the resounding success of its last two film adaptations, it was inevitable that the franchise would find its way to television and streaming. But Dune: Prophecy doesn't stay on the sands of Arrakis; it takes us to the beginning, 10,000 years ago, when the Bene Gesserit itself was formed. An extra detail? They are all Harkonnens. Max didn't give an exact release date, but we know it will arrive in autumn.
