On Oct. 15, Reuters reported that TSMC’s net income for July–September 2026 reached NT$763.1 billion, up 69% year over year—a sixth consecutive quarterly record. The result exceeded LSEG’s SmartEstimate of NT$746.3 billion, based on forecasts from 16 analysts, Reuters reported. Read Reuters’ report.
TSMC’s revenue was NT$1.49 trillion, up 50.9% year over year, according to XTB’s report. Revenue measures sales; net income is the profit reported for the quarter.
How Q3 wafer revenue split across process nodes
In Q3, 7nm and more advanced technologies accounted for 79% of wafer revenue, XTB reported. TrendForce’s breakdown adds the separate 5nm and 7nm shares to those reported for 2nm and 3nm.
| Process node | Share of Q3 wafer revenue |
| 2nm | 8% |
| 3nm | 33% |
| 5nm | 28% |
| 7nm | 10% |
The 5nm and 7nm processes together accounted for 38% of wafer revenue. That puts the 79% advanced-process total in context: it includes substantial contributions from more than the newest 2nm and 3nm nodes.
The sales outlook for the quarter ending in December
Bloomberg Línea reported that TSMC’s sales for the quarter ending in December could reach US$54.3 billion. Reuters described demand for AI chips and advanced packaging as context for the record quarter.
